Custom Domains
Adding Custom Domains
There is no limit to the number of domains you can add to the Strala Platform. There are two approaches available to adding custom domains:
- Customer provides a certificate that embodies the domain(s) you wish to add
- Strala creates the certificate, and customer validates the domain with DNS entries
Customer Provides Certificate
- Customer's IT or Network team would provide an SSL certificate for the domain to be leveraged for the Strala Platform. (i.e., Certificate of *.example.com would work for both go.example.com and pixel.example.com) .
If a wildcard certificate is not provided, then individual certificates will need to be provided per desired domain.
- Customer will need to CNAME desired domains to their desired service according to the mapping below.
Strala Provides Certificate
- Customer will request the domain(s) and Service(s) they wish to personalize with a First Party domain.
- Strala's Platform Team will create a certificate(s) for each of the domains, using wildcards where possible.
- Customer will need to add DNS entries for every domain/subdomain requested to confirm ownership of the domain with details provided by Strala's platform team from Step #2
- Customer will need to CNAME desired domains to their desired service according to the mapping below.
Final Steps By Customer
Customer will need to CNAME desired domains to desired services using this mapping:
CNAME Host | SERVICE |
go.strala.com | Strala Touchpoint Redirects and vanity URLs |
stra.la | Strala Touchpoint Short Code Redirects |
pixel.strala.com | Strala Pixel Tracking (mostly used for impressions and view throughs) |
Final Steps By Strala
Strala Customer Success will add the custom domains to the account profile (and eventually the customer will do this themselves from the interface)
