Welcome to ObservePoint! Here’s an introduction to our platform to get you started.

What is ObservePoint?

There’s what you think is happening on your site, and then there’s what’s really happening. ObservePoint’s automated web scanner helps you quickly uncover the difference. This means catching broken customer experiences, misconfigured tracking, and even data privacy vulnerabilities faster than ever before.

ObservePoint’s web scanner gives you vital information about how your website is functioning by running “Audits” and “Journeys.”

Audits are a fast way to quickly gather information about what occurs when each and every page loads. Audits automate what is traditionally a very tedious & manual process of looking at each page and evaluating if all technologies are operating as expected.

Journeys simulate a user interacting with your website's pages, forms, funnels, and more. They report on tags, cookies, console errors, and other data as users progress through specific experiences. Journeys are used for testing critical paths on a website, such as:

  • Testing to see if a loan application form is capturing and submitting data correctly

  • Validating the functionality of a shopping cart checkout flow

  • Confirming that tags are collecting the right data in a account sign-up process

What should I use ObservePoint for?

There are many ways to use ObservePoint. Here are three of the most common ways we see companies using our platform:

Analytics Validation - get a full inventory of the tags & other technologies on your site to know where data is being collected, what data is being collected, where that data is being sent.

Privacy Validation - use ObservePoint to check the functionality of your CMP, get a full picture of where cookies are firing on your site, and ensure that data is not being shared or collected where it shouldn’t be.

Landing Page Validation - know if you have broken pages, broken customer experiences, or are losing tracking parameters on your digital marketing efforts.
