Overview

In order to use LiveConnect, you will need to configure the LiveConnect Proxy through a browser extension or by changing the proxy settings on your device.

This guide shows how to change the proxy settings on an iOS device.

Configuration

In a browser on your computer, access LiveConnect and select an existing Configuration (or create a new one).

Click Start New Session. After about 30 seconds, an HTTP Proxy and HTTP Port number will be generated. You'll need to reference this in the next few steps.

Note: The HTTP Proxy will not change, but the HTTP Port number will.

Open the Settings app on your iOS device and select Wi-Fi.

Select the info icon next to the Wi-fi network you are currently using.

Scroll to the bottom of the network settings to HTTP Proxy and select Configure Proxy.

On the Configure Proxy page, tap Manual.

Set the Server and Port to the HTTP Proxy IP Address and HTTP Port number indicated on the New Session page in the LiveConnect interface that you generated earlier. Leave Authentication disabled. Tap Save.

The proxy setup is now complete.

After you click Start Recording in the LiveConnect interface, you can now open the app you want to test on your iOS device and analyze the Tags in LiveConnect.

When you are done recording, return to the Settings app on your iOS device, select Wi-Fi, select your current Wi-fi network, and select Configure Proxy. Disable the proxy settings by selecting Off and tap Save.

Note: If you skip this important step, you will likely have trouble connecting to the internet on your iOS device.

After completing this, you are ready to create a LiveConnect Configuration and create a new LiveConnect Session.
